Legendary Kyrgyz boxer, one of
the first champions of the world in professional boxing with the former Soviet
Union Orzubek Nazarov August 30, 50 years. At one time, being an excellent
boxer-lover, he took a chance to become one of the pioneers of the then Soviet
pro-boxing, having gone to perform at Japan's rings. Having lived in Japan for
six years Country, Orzubek did not become her in it. At first, in the pros he
carried the nickname of the outstanding Japanese boxer 1970-80s Gusikena Yoko,
who was very similar in appearance. After winning the world title, Nazarov was
considered dominant lightweight champion for five years, but was never able to
meet someone of the big stars of the pro-ring at the time. Therefore, and
because of the severe injuries of his eye he was not able to realize its
enormous potential and write his name in large letters in world boxing history.
Poskitatsya world and prematurely ending boxing career Orzubek returned to his
homeland, where he engaged in social and political activities. Orzubek Nazarov
born August 30, 1966 in the small town of Kant, Kyrgyz SSR. This place is
located in the north of the country - in Chui oblast, 20 kilometers from
Bishkek, and is known primarily from the close proximity of a major military
air base, which functioned there is still a 40-ies of the last century.
By
nationality Orzubek is Uzbek, which make up a considerable percentage of
Kyrgyzstan's population. His father was a simple bus driver and his wife raised
five children. In a small town when there were only three sports clubs. Orzubek
first tried his hand in football and basketball, but in the end chose boxing.
By this he pushed read in 10-year-old book about an outstanding Olympic
champion Valerie Popenchenko. With 11 years Orzubek began to attend a boxing
hall, which fully splashes his energy, leaving behind a permanent part in
street fights. Becoming the first and only coach throughout their amateur
career Gennady Nazarov F. Anopriev immediately saw the boy in boxing natural
born talent. I orzubek already developed in those years by the phenomenal
destructive blow to the torso. Being left-handed, he gets in his far left hand,
after which many of his rivals by more fans could not continue the fight.
Nazarov admits that apply rigid and precise strikes on the liver he liked.
Though defeated rivals and it was a pity he could not help himself. He orzubek
twice managed to win the championship of the Soviet Union among juniors and
young men, and then three times - in 1985, 1987 and 1988 - became the winner of
the USSR championship among adults. And in the last of them in the final he won
in hard battle even more young Konstantin Tszyu. Internationally, the success
also did not escape our hero's side, though perhaps to a lesser extent than he
deserved. 1986 was marked for the championship Nazarov Goodwill Games and the
bronze medal at the world championship. And in the semifinals Orzubek very
controversial, with a score of 2: 3, conceded on points known Cuban Adolfo
Horta.
The following year, he made a triumphant at the European Championships,
not only won the 1st place in the category up to 60 kg, and was recognized as
the best boxer of the tournament. Nazarov had seen himself in the ring Olympic
Seoul, but the second half of 1988 in his career was the black stripe. At
first, he had an operation to remove appendicitis, which put an end to his
Olympic claims. And in January 1989, has not yet entered after the operation in
fighting form Orzubek Kyrgyz bureaucrats from the sport literally forced to
speak at the national championship, which was held in Frunze. Being not
prepared properly, Nazarov reached yet the final, but it suffered probably the
heaviest defeat in a boxing career. It happened in a kind of a rematch with
Kostya Tszyu. Having missed a few delicate strokes, ambitious Orzubek climbed
to recoup and ran into a brutal combination of the same, as he was an
outstanding nokautёra. After that Nazarov lost his place in the first issue of
the national team. Of course, ambitious and stubborn Orzubek tried to continue
to regain lost ground, but there appeared in time the proposal of the Sports
Committee of the move to professional boxing. At the time of perestroika such
opportunities for Soviet athletes had just opened. And 23-year-old Nazarov,
together with a group of other "collectors" has decided to try his
luck on the rings of Japan. Being an Asian, he thought that it would be easier
to live and work in the Asian country. But the Soviet pioneers faced in Japan,
with many of the hardships of life. Their hosts from there the promoter group
Kyoei Boxing headed Masaukoy Kanehiroy saw our guys just tools for making
money. They actually lived in a dormitory, although promised personal
apartments, did not provide good living conditions, meagre pay fees, it is not
delved into their needs.
A lack of knowledge of the Japanese language has added
more problems. In addition, the Soviet boxers could not find common ground with
the local coaches. As a result, Orzubek Nazarov Vyacheslav Yanovsky, Arbachakov
Yuri, Vyacheslav Yakovlev, Ramzan Sebiev Ruslan Taramov and Alexander
Miroshnichenko decided to "prescribe" the coach from the country.
They became well-known mentor of Leningrad Alexander Zimin. Under his
leadership, they became very quickly get in shape. Besides Zimin well adapted them
to the pro style: the guys improved endurance, athleticism added, increased the
power of punches. And thanks to its excellent technical skills of they became
the nines opponents spread of local opposition. True, the men from the heavier
weights will soon have to go back, because in Asia they simply could not find
opponents, and to bring fighters from other continents were very expensive. As
a result of this, only two sevens - Arbachakov and Nazarov - were able to get
to world titles. In his pro-debut, held on 1 February 1990, Orzubek ripped
opponent in the 1st round. And he demonstrated later became his trademark
lethal work on the body. Over the next three and a half years Nazarov broke
many Asian lightweights, the vast majority of the fighting end of early victories
in the early rounds. He wins and repeatedly defended the Japan champion titles
and the Asian continent, until finally, in October 1993, he was not given a
chance to fight for the world title. However, for this it was necessary to go
to the territory to the current at the time title holder Dinganu Tobel in South
Africa. But this fact did not bother our hero. Orzubek recalls that the energy
from him then literally in full swing, but the motivation was prohibitive.
Zimin also said that his client was ready to "break" anyone standing
in his way an opponent. Despite being the favorite, and the support of the
local audience, among which there was even the Nelson Mandela, in the first
three rounds of the South African fighter looked whipping boy. But in the 4th trёhminutke
Orzubek absolutely carried away by the beating of the enemy and ran into an
unexpected counter-attack on the left. Knockdown caused him to act cautiously,
after which he began to methodically dismantle opponents from round to round.
Remembering amateur school, Nazarov was "to take away on their feet,"
the opponent. Despite the fact that Orzubek almost completely swollen shut one
eye, he clearly dominated the match. In the 10th round Tobel was sent to the
canvas and only narrowly escaped early stoppage. As a result, all three side
referees, though with different extensibility in the long run, gave the victory
Nazarov. For the first (and still only) boxer from Kyrgyzstan became the
champion of the boxing world. To carry out the first defense of his WBA
conquered light weight (up to 135 pounds, or 61.2 kilograms) Orzubek happened again
against the same Tobel in rematch . South Africans believe that their champion
was then just a bad day. But the rematch was even more devastating for a
fighter from South Africa. Permanent and merciless blows to the body literally
erased Tobel and forced him to think only about how to hold on until the final
bell, not to mention providing any real resistance. Domination Nazarov was
undisputed, the African was knocked down in the 7th round, and the judges were
at this time a rare unanimous - 118-110 twice and 118-111. The only drawback
for Orzubek was trauma of the left eye in which the retina is detached. But
then the doctors were able to conduct a successful operation using a laser, and
then our hero was able to continue performances in the ring. After recovery
it's time to conquer the American ring. In December 1994, Nazarov again acted
on the territory of the enemy - this time in Portland, Maine, where at that
time the former world champion in two weight categories Joe Gamache wanted
again to take over the world title. But Orzubek finished with an American all
in less than two rounds. In the 1st Gamache he broke his nose, and in the 2nd
twice laid on the floor of the ring.
American and could not figure out what he
should do against such an opponent and was sent to "sleep" under the
ropes killer "sickle" to the left. After that Nazarov returned to
Japan, where he spent three consecutive protection. First, again, already in
the 2nd round, a left uppercut to the solar plexus was knocked out Korean Won
Park. Then Orzubek asked merciless bashing Filipino Dindo Kanoyu, not giving
him any of the 12 rounds of the fight. A completed "Asian cleaning"
on Indonesians Adrianus Tararehe. In the 3rd round opponent was sent to a heavy
knockdown, and at the beginning of the 4th finally arrive. Then he followed a
legal battle with the Japanese promoter, prolonged for a year. Orzubek wanted
to go to battle with eminent contenders, and the Japanese could not organize
them to him. Although it should be noted that in parallel with the Champions
Nazarov, only other major versions of such fighters like Oscar de la Hoya,
Shane Mosley and Stevie Johnson, did not burn a particular desire to meet with
not very much cash, but it is very tough and dangerous opponent. As a result,
the Japanese handed over part of the rights to organize fights Orzubek Don King
and gave him in May 1997, a meeting with a strong black American Levander
Johnson.
Last, it must be said, sometimes rendered strong resistance champion,
but still was stopped prematurely. At the end of the 6th round, he found
himself on the canvas twice, and at the beginning of the 7th trёhminutki was
finally hammered mnogoudarnoy series. (In 2005, the Levander Johnson still
managed to become a world champion, but in the first defense suffered an early
defeat in the 11th round of the Mexican Jesus Chavez then died in hospital from
a brain hemorrhage a few days later.) For the fee received after fight with
Johnson, Orzubek managed to redeem his contract with Japanese promoters and
moved to France where he signed an agreement with the influential promoters
there the brothers Akariesami. Recent able to normalize relations with the
King, and Nazarov. Hoping for a new development of his career, Orzubek in
October 1997 in a non-title fight knocked out Argentine Oscar Natalio Lopez,
but a month later became a member of the tragic events. While in Almaty, at the
invitation of old friends in amateur boxing, the famous Kazakhstan Serik
Konakbaeva and Viktor Demyanenko, Nazarov, along with two friends was shot in
front of his car. They managed to survive only to him. Orzubek was wounded in
the shoulder, but the bullet went right through him, not to touch the bone.
This incident has brought not only physical, but also psychological torture
champion. He was absolutely not involved in the disassembly occurred. It seems
to be one of his friend’s owed money by some criminal elements, and they
decided to kill him. On the ring Nazarov returned after six months, deciding to
hold the tuning interim bout against not very strong opponent. A month later
Akariesy organized his title defense against living in France Senegal-born
Jean-Baptiste Mendy, who shortly before had lost the title of world champion.
The fight was to be held in Paris, local newspapers reported that Nazarov is
the undisputed favorite, and the question is only whether Mendy lose early or
make it to the final bell. Initially, the development of events unfolded
according to pre-match decomposed. Orzubek began to push the opponent on all
fronts. But in the 3rd round of the accident happened: During one of the
attacks Nazarov came across a glove Mendy and received a jab a thumb in the
left eye. Orzubek then confessed that even during preparation for this fight,
he felt that it had already been subjected to trauma eye some disagreement. And
Mendy has aggravated this damage. As it turned out, then again, there was a
detached retina. If Nazarov did not follow the code of the warrior, and decided
to withdraw from the fight or it would have insisted during a break in Zimin,
who Orzubek told about the problem, perhaps a career, and could still save. But
our hero decided to fight to the end. Being in a state of pain shock he
loosened the onslaught, than immediately took advantage tall and technically
the enemy left-handed. Mandy worked on waste and using arisen passivity to
champion actions won round after round. An Orzubek eye became worse and worse,
the pain only intensified. After the battle, it was found that the retina was
torn in three places. But, almost blinded in the left eye, Nazarov decided to
go all out in the end. 11th and 12th rounds, he drove around the ring Mandy
coach Afro-French even counting out loud to the rest of salvation for his ward
gong seconds.
But Orzubek and now claims that, if he had more extra half a
minute, a minute, Mendy would be knocked out. All the touch judges gave the
victory to the Frenchman, who was also a ward Akariesov brothers, with a score
of 116-111, 116-112 and 118-112. And on that sole defeat professional career
Orzubek Nazarov has been completed. Once carried out the operations of the left
eye was able to recover less than 50%. But, despite the premature end to his
sports career, our hero, who is optimist in life, he returned home and began to
actively implement other projects. He was a businessman, stayed at various
bureaucratic positions in the higher authorities, was a trustee of sports
clubs, foundations and companies, as well as dedicated and committed to other
social activities. And in December 2007 he was elected a deputy of the Jogorku
Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic. Despite frequent riots and the
unstable political situation in his native country, Orzubek Puletovich remains
